His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Nasser bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Jazan region, patronized the opening of the Annual Volunteer Forum 2024, organized by the branch of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development at Prince Sultan Cultural Center in Jazan. The event forms part of Jazan Winter 2025 events, coinciding with Saudi Global Volunteering Day, under the slogan "Jazan Volunteers."

A Tour Through Volunteer Work

His Highness opened the accompanying exhibition, which saw wide participation from government departments and charitable and civil-society associations. Attendees expressed pride in the institutional volunteering efforts in the region, which have become a model followed across the Kingdom.

Volunteering Within Vision 2030

Engineer Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Qanfudhi, director of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development branch in Jazan, said the forum embodies the Kingdom's commitment to achieving the goals of Vision 2030, which has made volunteering a cornerstone of sustainable development. He noted the Kingdom celebrated reaching one million volunteers ahead of schedule, reflecting the success of national efforts to instill a culture of giving.

Striking Figures for Volunteering in Jazan

A visual presentation showcased the region's volunteering achievements during 2024, which included:

  • 3,117,860 volunteer hours.
  • 24,819 volunteer opportunities carried out by 273,656 male and female volunteers.
  • An economic return from volunteer work of SR85,712,012.
  • Participation by 223 organizations and 16 volunteer teams.

Two Days of Varied Events

The forum includes a number of:

  • Research papers and panel discussions examining best practices in volunteer work.
  • Specialized training workshops to build volunteers' skills and increase their impact.

  • The late businessman Jam'an bin Muzhir Al-Ghamdi.
