About Madinah

Madinah is the capital of Madinah Region and the city of the Prophet's migration, home to the Prophet's Mosque, Quba Mosque (the first mosque in Islam), Mount Uhud and Al-Qiblatayn Mosque, with about 1.4 million residents according to the 2022 census and a region that receives more than 18 million visitors a year. Ringed by volcanic lava fields and Wadi Al-Aqiq, it is famous for its dates, above all the Ajwa, and hosts Taibah University, the Islamic University and the King Fahd Complex for the Printing of the Holy Quran. Its annual calendar opens with the Madinah Winter season, the Cultures and Peoples Festival and the Al Baraka Symposium in winter and spring, the Umrah and Ziyarah Forum at the King Salman International Conference Centre, then the Madinah Book Fair, the Dates Season and Summer of Taibah in summer, the Dhat Nakhl forum, Buildex and the camel auction in autumn, and the Madinah Investment Forum in December.
