The Madinah Region Development Authority is a government body established by royal order on 28 December 2009 with an independent budget, reporting to the Prime Minister and chaired by Governor Prince Salman bin Sultan, with the ministers of finance and Hajj and the regional mayor on its board. It leads urban planning and major projects: the King Salman Project for the Expansion of Quba Mosque, the Al-Qiblatayn Cultural Centre, the rehabilitation of Wadi Al-Aqiq, the city gateways and public transport, the Central Dates Market and Food City, and the Prophet's Hijrah Route.

- The annual Madinah Dates Season and the "Dhat Nakhl" premium-dates forum (September 2025).
- The "Madinah Winter" season with more than 30 tourism experiences through the "Visit Madinah" platform.
- The launch of the Prophet's Hijrah Route and the "In His Footsteps" experience with the General Entertainment Authority.
