The Royal Institute of Traditional Arts (Wrth) launched the third edition of Wrth Camp in Saudi Arabia’s Aseer region on October 1, 2026, bringing together 50 male and female trainees from across the Kingdom.
Running through October 31, the month-long program combines theoretical learning with hands-on training in traditional arts and crafts, connecting participants with Aseer’s distinctive cultural and architectural heritage.
Three Traditional Arts Training Tracks
The camp features three main training tracks: traditional stone construction, traditional hand embroidery, and metal arts.
Participants will learn the foundations and techniques of each craft before applying their skills through practical projects designed to deepen their understanding of traditional artistic practices.
Three Collaborative Artworks Inspired by Aseer
As part of the program, trainees will work together to produce three collaborative artworks inspired by Aseer’s architecture and cultural heritage.
Participants who complete the camp will also receive an accredited certificate from the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts.
Third Stop After Madinah and Al-Ahsa
Aseer marks the third destination for Wrth Camp following previous editions held in Madinah and Al-Ahsa.
The approach reflects the institute’s efforts to rotate the camp between different Saudi regions, allowing participants to experience the distinctive traditional arts and cultural characteristics associated with each location.
Since 2021, the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts has worked to develop Saudi talent in traditional arts and crafts while supporting the preservation and sustainability of the Kingdom’s cultural heritage.
