Jeddah Book Fair 2025, organized by the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission under the theme "Jeddah Reads," continues to enrich the cultural and knowledge scene through quality programs, led by a series of specialized workshops on creative writing and critical thinking that drew notable attendance from fair visitors and those interested in literary and cultural affairs.

The fair hosted a number of workshops covering the development of critical-thinking skills, methods of effective dialogue, and the importance of constructive discussion in raising cultural awareness and exchanging ideas, alongside a look at the aesthetics of using local dialects in contemporary writing and their role in enriching literary texts and bringing them closer to readers while preserving artistic and linguistic balance.

Other workshops discussed the foundations of writing compelling dialogue in literary and dramatic texts and its effect on developing narrative structure, deepening characters and driving events forward, helping raise the quality of literary work and improve its narrative rhythm.

The workshop program also covered advanced topics in creative writing, focusing on building imagined worlds in fiction, particularly in science fiction, highlighting the importance of varied reading, controlling the elements of the fictional world, building characters and their conflicts, and striking a balance between description and narrative pace so the text remains coherent and believable — with an emphasis on patience, gradual progress and accepting criticism as part of developing the craft of writing.

Jeddah Book Fair 2025 welcomes visitors at its venue in Jeddah Super Dome Square daily from 12:00 noon to midnight, with the public admitted from 2:00 pm on Fridays, as part of a comprehensive ten-day cultural program featuring quality events that reflect the Kingdom's growing cultural and knowledge activity and affirm Jeddah's standing as a hub for culture and creativity.
