Taif, 23 Rajab 1447 AH (12 January 2026)

The third Writers and Readers Festival continues at Al-Ruddaf Park in Taif, organised by the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission as an integrated cultural event that connects the governorate's present with its literary and historical roots and offers an interactive platform celebrating the book, bringing literature, the arts and history together in a cultural experience open to the public.

Authors and visitors said the festival reinforces Taif's presence as a prominent cultural incubator in the Kingdom, given its deep-rooted literary memory and the historical landmarks that shaped its cultural identity, from its mountains and orchards to its old souks, which served through the ages as spaces for knowledge and cultural and intellectual exchange.

Staging the festival in Taif, the first Saudi city to join the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in the field of literature, affirms its cultural standing and the long literary and historical legacy that made it a meeting place for poets, scholars and thinkers across different eras.

The festival extends Taif's historic role in nurturing creativity and knowledge by bringing writers, intellectuals and creatives together in a varied cultural programme of intellectual dialogues, literary evenings, art exhibitions and live performances that present literature as a contemporary experience connected to identity and memory and able to speak to every segment of society.

The festival reflects the commission's vision of energising cultural activity across the regions and turning literary events into vibrant community platforms that raise cultural awareness and cement Taif's standing as a leading cultural destination locally and internationally.
