HE Saleh bin Ali Al Turki, Mayor of Jeddah, has opened the exhibition of the "Bride of the Red Sea" initiative, part of a series of quality events designed to highlight Jeddah's beauty and urban landmarks through the lenses of Saudi photographers, strengthening the city's visual identity and documenting its artistic and architectural elements.

The exhibition presents 25 photographs selected from the 100 that make up the initiative's first phase, in which five photographers produced artistic work documenting Jeddah's sculptures and prominent landmarks in creative styles reflecting the city's urban and cultural character.

Touring Exhibitions to Widen Community Engagement

The exhibition is the initiative's first showing, to be followed by a series of touring and fixed exhibitions at a number of sites across Jeddah in the coming period, widening public reach and engagement with the artistic and cultural project.

The step aims to deepen the community's connection with the city's visual scene and highlight the aesthetic elements that form part of Jeddah's urban memory and modern identity.

A Digital Platform Documenting Sculptures and Landmarks

Alongside the opening, Jeddah Municipality launched an online platform presenting all the participating photographs, giving visitors detailed information on each work, including the sculpture's name and artistic meaning, the artist, the year of execution and the sculpture's location, as well as the photographer who documented it.

The platform widens digital access to the initiative's visual content and provides a comprehensive documentary reference for the city's landmarks and artistic sculptures.

The Initiative Team Honored

At the close of the opening ceremony, the Mayor of Jeddah honored the initiative's team for their efforts in delivering a project that reflects Jeddah's beauty and spotlights its visual elements as one of the Kingdom's most distinctive urban cities.
