A discussion at the International Saudi Falcons and Hunting Exhibition 2026 on Friday, October 2 examined written sources preserving the Kingdom’s hunting heritage. Researcher Mohammed bin Khathlan explored manuscripts and Arabic literature on training birds of prey, hunting practices and their relationship with the local environment.
The session also addressed royal support for falconry since King Abdulaziz’s reign and the importance of documentation for younger generations. The exhibition runs in Malham, north of Riyadh, through October 10.
