AlUla Manara links stars and stories in World Space Week programme
Astronomy and local cultural heritage come together in AlUla from Monday, October 5, 2026, as the Royal Commission for AlUla’s Manara team launches its World Space Week programme. Local activities continue through Thursday, October 8, across AlJadidah Cinema, AlJoud Farm and the Old Town.
Learning through shared experiences
The programme begins with “Under AlUla’s Sky” at AlJadidah Cinema, an evening introducing visitors to the stars. On Tuesday, October 6, “Al-Anwa” at AlJoud Farm explores how earlier generations read the night sky to understand the changing seasons.
Wednesday and Thursday bring crafts, arts and storytelling for children in the Old Town, alongside a family stargazing experience. Licensed specialist operators will also offer astronomy outings and telescope observations at several locations, under the Manara team’s supervision.
The Saudi Press Agency announced the local programme on October 4. It coincides with the annual World Space Week, held internationally from October 4 to 10; AlUla’s announced activities have the separate October 5–8 schedule.
