AlUla Dates Shine at the International Dates Conference and Exhibition 2024: Agricultural Leadership and Sustainable Innovation
The Royal Commission for AlUla took part in the fifth edition of the International Dates Conference and Exhibition 2024, held under the theme "The World of Dates." The event serves as an important international platform for exchanging knowledge about the dates industry, opening new avenues for exporting Saudi dates, and boosting the innovation and competitiveness of national products.
Showcasing AlUla's Dates and Farming Stories
The commission's participation included a unique display from 12 farms belonging to AlUla residents, where farmers shared stories of date farming and highlighted the unique varieties the governorate is known for, such as Barni, Medjool, and Helwa. The display drew strong interest from visitors and those interested in the dates industry, locally and internationally.
An Award for Excellence in Agricultural Technology
On the sidelines of the conference, the Agriculture Center affiliated with the Royal Commission for AlUla received the 2024 Excellence Award in the category of Innovative Palm Technologies, presented by the National Center for Palms and Dates. The recognition came in acknowledgment of the commission's efforts in:
- Launching stations to recycle agricultural waste into fertilizer.
- Developing farming methods using modern technologies.
- Protecting the environment and promoting sustainability.
