Under the patronage of HRH Prince Khalid bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Governor of Makkah Region, HRH Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of Makkah Region, launched the "Jeddah Food Cluster" project, spanning more than 11 million square meters across the second and third industrial cities. The achievement, which entered the Guinness World Records as the largest food cluster in the world, is part of efforts to meet the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 in strengthening food security and supporting food supply chains and industrial growth.

Major Achievements Boosting the Kingdom's Global Standing

The Jeddah Food Cluster marks a leap forward for the Kingdom's food industries, aiming to:

  1. Strengthen food security and self-sufficiency by developing food value chains.
  2. Attract local and international investments worth up to SAR 20 billion.
  3. Raise industrial productivity, with net output of 4 million tons annually across 10 industrial activities.
  4. Create 43,000 new job opportunities, and increase GDP by around SAR 7 billion over the next decade.

World-Class Facilities and Growing Investment

The Jeddah Food Cluster includes:

  • 124 operating factories with investments totaling SAR 4.4 billion.
  • 76 ready-to-operate factories compliant with Saudi Food and Drug Authority requirements.
  • A central laboratory to improve food efficiency and safety.
  • An integrated supplier network and cold and dry storage warehouses covering 134,000 square meters.

Strategic Agreements to Strengthen the Sector

The launch ceremony saw the signing of several agreements between MODON and a number of government and private entities, including:

  • An agreement with the Food Industries Institute to develop human capabilities.
  • Cooperation with Halal Products Development Company, affiliated with the Public Investment Fund, to improve production quality.
  • A tripartite partnership with Umm Al-Qura University and the National Academy for Industry to support specialized education and training.

An Ambitious Vision for Sustainable Development

Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Al-Khorayef said the food cluster aims to establish a comprehensive system linking manufacturers with suppliers and logistics services, with a focus on innovation, sustainability, and encouraging entrepreneurship and small and medium enterprises.
