Riyadh — November 30, 2024:
The Saudi Falcons Club has completed final preparations for the launch of the King Abdulaziz Falcons Festival 2024, to be held at the club's headquarters in Malham, north Riyadh, from December 3 to 19. The festival is the world's largest gathering of falcons, bringing together leading local and international falconers to compete in the Al-Milwah and Al-Mazayen categories.

Preserving Heritage and Protecting the Environment

Talal bin Abdulaziz Al-Shumaisi, CEO of the Saudi Falcons Club, said the festival seeks to develop falconry and revive authentic Arab heritage, alongside strengthening national identity and raising awareness of the importance of protecting the environment and wildlife.

He noted that the festival has achieved notable milestones, including entering the Guinness World Records three times as the largest gathering of falcons in the world. This year, falconers will compete in 138 rounds over 17 days, with cash prizes exceeding SR36 million distributed across more than 900 awards.

Accompanying Activities and Diverse Pavilions

Waleed Al-Taweel, official spokesperson for the Saudi Falcons Club, said the festival will feature accompanying events aimed at teaching younger generations the history of falconry and its tools through the "Falconer of the Future" pavilion, which offers interactive activities combining modern technology with the arts.

The festival also hosts 10 indoor pavilions showcasing falconry and hunting equipment and expedition gear, offering visitors a comprehensive experience that blends authenticity and adventure.

Competition Details

The Al-Milwah competition includes 49 qualifying rounds across multiple categories for amateurs, professionals and local owners. It also includes six rounds for internationally auctioned falcons, a round for the Falconer of the Future, and 73 rounds to compete for the King Abdulaziz Cups and the "Sword of the King" title, adding to the excitement and competitiveness among falconers.
