Riyadh, 14 February 2025 – In the largest open university event at the Kingdom level, King Saud University, in cooperation with the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), launched "Athka KSU," which attracted more than 10,000 visitors, in a massive event reflecting the role of artificial intelligence in developing education and boosting innovation in the Kingdom.

Exceptional Engagement with Interactive AI Showcases

The event featured advanced AI demonstrations, giving students and visitors the chance to experience AI applications in innovative educational environments, which boosted engagement and enthusiasm, particularly through competitions and mental challenges between students and AI, recognition awards for creative projects presented by Saudi youth, and skills development for participants in AI technologies.

Transformation Hackathon and AI Park: Live Innovation Experiences

The event featured the "Transformation Hackathon," in which competitors developed innovative tech solutions using artificial intelligence; a "Rocket League" tech challenge, an interactive experience combining technology and entertainment; and "AI Park," an interactive zone rich with scientific and entertainment experiences.

Launch of Research Projects and Partnerships to Boost the Future of AI

The event also saw the launch of a package of scientific projects, including AI research fellowships, strategic partnerships to support research and development, and student training and qualification programmes to keep pace with the future of technology.

High-Level Attendance Boosts the Event's Standing

The event was attended by prominent figures, including HRH Princess Dr. Maha bint Mishari bin Abdulaziz, Vice President for Development and External Relations at Alfaisal University; Minister of Education Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Benyan; SDAIA President Dr. Abdullah bin Sharaf Al-Ghamdi; and King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre CEO Dr. Majed bin Ibrahim Al-Fayadh.

Attendees affirmed that "Athka KSU" represents a major step toward boosting the use of artificial intelligence in education and empowering young Saudi talent to lead the digital future.
