Jeddah, May 1, 2025 (3 Dhul Qadah 1446 AH)
In a festive atmosphere alive with color, flavor and music, "Filipino Night," part of "Your Passport to the World," drew large crowds of visitors who enjoyed exploring the Philippines' rich and diverse culture through artistic performances, traditional food and interactive workshops organized by the General Entertainment Authority in Jeddah.
Filipino Night was the first of the four stations in the month-long May event, embodying the cultural exchange between the communities living in the Kingdom and the local community through a program that opens the door to discovering different cultures in a family-friendly, entertaining setting.
A Cultural Program Full of Filipino Spirit
The evening featured traditional artistic performances by professional Filipino troupes, folk dances reflecting the diversity of the Philippines' regions, and live cooking experiences that let visitors sample dishes such as adobo, sinigang and pansit.
The event also included handicraft workshops in which visitors learned to weave traditional baskets, make decorated fabrics, and use traditional Filipino motifs in decoration.
The event's pavilions were decorated in designs inspired by Filipino heritage, adding an authentic and appealing visual touch to the cultural experience.
Your Passport to the World: A Journey from Jeddah to the Continents
Filipino Night is the first of the "Your Passport to the World" stations, which also include stops for Bangladesh, India and Sudan, giving visitors the chance to experience a unique cultural journey within the Kingdom and interact with the customs, heritage and diverse flavors of multiple communities.
