Buraidah, May 31, 2025 (4 Dhu al-Hijjah 1446H) — In a step supporting the region's cultural momentum, His Royal Highness Prince Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Qassim, toured a number of cultural salons set up inside shopping malls in Buraidah, which aim to revive a culture of reading and interest in books and strengthen national belonging and community awareness, as part of the "Reading is Food for Minds" initiative.

During his tour, the prince reviewed the reading programmes and specialised initiatives offered by the salons for all segments of society, including children, young people and the elderly, including discussion sessions, book showcases and interactive workshops that build cultural and intellectual awareness.

Prince Faisal praised the role played by these initiatives, in particular the tangible cultural contributions made by Ahmed Al-Muhaisni Holding Group and the Book Club, noting that such activities encourage the community to take an interest in reading and provide a unique interactive environment that integrates culture into daily life.

He affirmed that these efforts align with Saudi Vision 2030, which seeks to build a knowledge-based society and reinforce a sense of belonging to the national identity, pointing to the importance of expanding these initiatives to cover all governorates in the region, given their significant role in embedding cultural values, developing literary taste, and raising generations of readers with a strong awareness.

The prince called on relevant authorities to support and adopt similar initiatives across various cities and regions, stressing that engaging the community in cultural activities inside shopping malls is an effective way to reach a wide range of visitors and instil a love of books within an integrated recreational and educational environment.
