SAKAKA, 30 August 2025 — The Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission launched yesterday the events of "Children's Literary Week" at the House of Culture in Sakaka, Al-Jouf region, which continue until 4 September, as part of a cultural project held over one week in five different regions of the Kingdom.

Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al-Wasel, the Commission's CEO, explained that this event is an extension of the Commission's efforts to strengthen literary culture among the younger generation, and to give children the opportunity to express their creativity, helping build a reading and creative generation capable of engaging with the national cultural movement, in line with the goals of the National Culture Strategy and Saudi Vision 2030.

The program includes a series of interactive and creative activities, including workshops for children, teenagers and parents, theatrical performances, literary competitions, and storytelling sessions, alongside educational and artistic corners aimed at developing children's imagination and literary abilities, and strengthening their early connection to reading and writing.

The "Children's Literary Week" project aims to instill a love of literature and reading in children, develop their linguistic and cognitive skills, and raise cultural awareness among parents, helping establish the habit of reading and connection to knowledge from an early age.
