The Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission today launched the "Children's Literary Week" at the Arab Open University in Madinah, part of a series of cultural programs aimed at children across the Kingdom's regions. The event runs through October 23.

Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al-Wasel, CEO of the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission, said holding "Children's Literary Week" in Madinah reflects the commission's commitment to spreading literary culture and expanding community participation through interactive events that encourage children to read, write and express themselves artistically, in line with the goals of the National Culture Strategy stemming from Saudi Vision 2030.

The seven-day program includes a series of literary and artistic activities and workshops for children, teenagers and parents, with the participation of a select group of specialists in talent development and creative skills. Activities include theatrical performances, literary competitions, storytelling sessions, interactive art activities and educational corners designed to enrich children's imagination and strengthen their connection to reading and literature from an early age.

The "Children's Literary Week" project, held in several Saudi cities, aims to instill a love of reading and writing in children, develop their literary and creative skills, and raise parents' awareness of literature's role in shaping a child's character and nurturing their thinking and imagination โ€” helping to build a generation of readers and creators who contribute to the national cultural movement.
