The "Khutta Al-Tamkeen" forum, organized by Jazan Municipality through its General Department of Community Participation and Nonprofit Sector Development, opened today at the Jizan House of Culture, with the participation of a select group of leaders and experts in volunteering and social development.

The forum aims to strengthen the culture of volunteer work, empower youth to play an active role in serving their communities, and create an environment conducive to the exchange of expertise between volunteer organizations and the nonprofit sector, while highlighting opportunities and initiatives that support community partnership and contribute to the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 in sustainable development.

Eng. Ahmed bin Salem Khawaji, general director of community participation and nonprofit sector development at Jazan Municipality, said volunteer work in the municipal and housing sectors is a fundamental pillar for improving quality of life and community awareness, noting that the municipality has implemented dozens of volunteer initiatives across the region's governorates in recent years, including tree-planting campaigns, environmental cleanup drives, housing initiatives and community awareness programs — reflecting the depth of the partnership between citizens and the municipality and affirming community awareness of its role in sustainable development.

Khawaji said the forum comes as part of efforts to empower volunteers and build complementary partnerships between the public and private sectors, helping to establish volunteering as a way of life that expresses a spirit of belonging and national responsibility.

The forum included a video presentation on the municipality's efforts to develop the volunteer work system, noting that it has successfully attracted more than 95,000 volunteers across its various programs in the region's governorates. The event also featured panel discussions and specialized workshops on community empowerment and the development of leadership and volunteering skills, with the participation of experts in municipal work, housing and social development.

The forum also included informational booths for participating entities, giving attendees the chance to learn about volunteer programs and initiatives in the region, helping to strengthen community engagement and build an aware, responsible generation that actively contributes to serving its nation and community.
