The Islamic Arts House Museum in Jeddah marked World Audiovisual Heritage Day by launching an art exhibition titled "Between the Balconies," organized jointly with visual arts students from Umm Al-Qura University, held in the museum's educational space from October 27 to 31, with the attendance of a select group of cultural and artistic figures interested in Islamic heritage and the arts.

The exhibition offers a rich artistic experience through 20 contemporary artworks depicting the beauty of Hejazi roshan windows and old doors, expressing the features of authentic Hejazi architecture in a style that blends tradition with modernity. The exhibition also offers visitors an interactive experience, including wood and metal engraving and Islamic ornament-making, alongside artistic photography spaces inspired by Jeddah's historical heritage, giving participants the chance for artistic expression and to contribute to preserving and promoting Saudi heritage across generations.

The exhibition focuses on showcasing aspects of Islamic audiovisual heritage, highlighting visual heritage through ornamentation, calligraphy and Islamic architecture that create an artistic dialogue between light, shadow, beauty and faith, while presenting audio heritage through Quran recitations, the call to prayer, muwashshahat (traditional songs) and oral tales that have preserved the Islamic conscience and expressed the depth of cultural identity in historical Islamic communities.

"Between the Balconies" is part of the Islamic Arts House Museum's efforts to visually document Islamic heritage and preserve its aesthetic and spiritual values, through modern artworks inspired by the past with a contemporary spirit, presenting it in an artistic style that links authenticity with innovation, helping to spread artistic awareness and preserve Saudi and Islamic cultural heritage.
