Jazan's House of Culture, in partnership with the Department of Art at Jazan University's College of Arts and Humanities, marked World Islamic Art Day this evening with a visual exhibition offering an artistic journey combining textile art, ornamentation, Arabic calligraphy and digital art, drawing wide attendance from enthusiasts, students and families.
The exhibition featured a collection of works inspired by Islamic architecture and its geometric ornamentation, alongside contemporary pieces that blended digital techniques with authentic aesthetic elements, embodying the evolution of Islamic art through the ages. University students also presented works expressing the spirit of Islamic art through geometric patterns, Arabic letterforms and historic architectural motifs.
Works that blended color layers with ornamentation drew visitors' interest, alongside pieces celebrating Arabic calligraphy through innovative geometric compositions, while the digital works offered a modern take on Islamic art by merging images, patterns and ornamentation in inventive ways.
The exhibition is part of a series of cultural programs organized by Jazan's House of Culture aimed at strengthening the presence of the visual arts on the local scene and highlighting the region's cultural and artistic identity.
