Al-Kharj – 28 Jumada al-Awwal 1447 AH, corresponding to November 19, 2025
Al-Kharj governorate today saw the launch of Children's Literature Week, organized by the Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission, aimed at strengthening children's engagement with literature and developing their creative skills through a varied cultural and artistic program combining reading, content creation and the arts.
The five-day week includes a number of creative writing and storytelling workshops, alongside reading sessions and art activities for children delivered by a select group of writers and artists specializing in children's literature.
The events also include interactive meetups and hands-on spaces that let children practice writing, drawing and creative expression, as part of programs designed to develop their literary abilities, broaden their imagination, and strengthen their language skills.
The Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission said holding the week in Al-Kharj governorate is part of its plans to expand children's literature programs across the Kingdom's regions, noting that the event drew strong turnout from its opening hours.
Children's Literature Week is one of the Commission's flagship programs supporting the children's literature sector, through initiatives that promote reading among young people and provide educational and applied content that helps discover and nurture children's talents.
