The Eastern Province Literary Club was announced in 1410 AH (1989) by Prince Faisal bin Fahd, then head of the General Presidency of Youth Welfare, based in Dammam and operating under the Ministry of Culture, with its first board chaired by Abdulrahman bin Abdulkarim Al-Obaid. The club has published more than a hundred titles and issues the cultural magazine "Darin", and opened new premises with the launch of its cultural season.
It organises an annual cultural season of poetry and story evenings, critical seminars and writing workshops for young people.
