King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals was established by royal decree on 5 Jumada I 1383 AH (23 September 1963), headquartered in Dhahran, and is one of the region's leading universities in engineering, science and business, with about 13,800 students including more than 4,000 in graduate studies, under president Dr Mohammed bin Mohsen Al-Saggaf.
The university oversees the Dammam Community College, which graduated its 21st batch of 216 students on 6 May 2026 under the patronage of the Deputy Governor of the Eastern Province.
