Makkah – November 2025
The "Mathematics, the Language of Science" festival, organized by King Salman Science Oasis in partnership with the General Directorate of Education in Makkah Region and Umm Al-Qura University, is drawing wide engagement from students and science enthusiasts, as part of an initiative aimed at promoting scientific culture and highlighting mathematics as a foundational language for various sciences and modern technologies.
The festival, running until November 30, supports the Kingdom's efforts to instill concepts of innovation and creativity among young people, and to inspire the new generation to explore applications of mathematics in engineering, artificial intelligence, medicine, energy and other advanced scientific fields.
The events drew notable attendance from education and academic leaders, alongside students from various school levels, with the program featuring interactive presentations, innovative scientific workshops, competitions and hands-on learning experiences that turned abstract mathematical concepts into engaging, relatable activities for students.
Organizers said the festival represents one of the flagship initiatives supporting the building of a knowledge-based society capable of competing globally, noting that the partnership between the organizing bodies reflects the complementary educational and scientific roles in preparing a generation equipped with future skills.
A number of specialists said strengthening the presence of mathematics in students' daily lives helps develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and boosts their research and experimental capabilities, raising their readiness to pursue the scientific and engineering disciplines required in the job market.
The festival continues to offer a series of activities and scientific programs designed to inspire students, sharpen their skills, and build a generation passionate about science and knowledge.
