The third International Al-Jouf Agricultural Forum, held in the Al-Jouf region, helped spotlight a range of modern agricultural technologies and emerging Saudi innovations aimed at developing farming practices, boosting the efficient use of natural resources, and achieving the Kingdom's environmental and water sustainability targets.

The forum showcased advanced technologies powered by solar energy to cut energy consumption in farming operations, alongside innovative solutions to reduce water waste and adapt growing environments to a wide range of crops suited to the varying climate and soil conditions across the Kingdom's regions.

Exhibitor pavilions displayed emerging Saudi innovations designed around the needs of different agricultural regions, most notably the "Saudi Rain" innovation, which mimics natural rainfall through a controlled irrigation system used in greenhouses, helping rationalize water consumption while meeting plants' actual needs and supporting the preservation and sustainability of water resources.

Other innovations on display included smart digital-farming technologies that rely on connected systems and smart devices to manage agricultural operations remotely, a soil-testing innovation that helps identify the areas most suitable for farming and curbs the spread of agricultural pests, and an acoustic-wave-based water-leak detection device that serves both the agricultural and residential sectors by enabling early detection of leaks and reducing water loss.

These modern technologies stand out for their ability to reduce dependence on manual labor, save time and cut the operating costs of agricultural projects, as the solutions allow systems to be connected via the internet, enable precise scheduling of operations, and improve production efficiency while preserving the environment and water resources.

The third International Al-Jouf Agricultural Forum is part of efforts to support technological transformation in the agricultural sector and provide a platform to showcase leading modern solutions and technologies, helping develop farming practices in Al-Jouf and enabling smallholder farmers and agricultural projects to adopt innovative technologies that boost productivity and sustainability, in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
