Taif, 17 Rajab 1447 AH (6 January 2026)
The Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission is preparing to launch the third Writers and Readers Festival from 9 to 15 January 2026 at Al-Ruddaf Park in Taif. The seven-day festival, held under the theme "Your Presence Is a Gain", is a cultural celebration aimed at strengthening the presence of literature and knowledge and offering an integrated cultural and entertainment experience for all segments of society.
Taif was chosen to host the festival in recognition of its deep-rooted cultural standing, its long literary legacy and its growing cultural activity, which have secured its place on the cultural map locally and internationally, along with its status as the first Saudi city admitted to the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in the field of literature, reflecting the depth of its literary scene and making it a natural home for creative and knowledge events.
Through the festival, the commission continues its efforts to develop the cultural sector amid the Kingdom's accelerating cultural activity, highlighting the central role of literature and celebrating the participation of leading local and international writers and authors through a varied programme that combines knowledge with entertainment and engages the public with cultural content in innovative ways.
The festival offers a wide range of events, including poetry evenings, literary seminars and knowledge dialogues, alongside concerts, performing arts, art exhibitions and interactive shows, in an integrated experience that lets visitors engage directly with writers and cultural content creators and explore literature in a contemporary format that combines enjoyment with benefit.
The festival welcomes visitors daily from 4 pm to midnight, offering a vibrant cultural experience in an open, interactive atmosphere that reflects Taif's cultural standing and establishes the festival as a prominent cultural platform that strengthens culture's presence in community life and supports Vision 2030's goal of building a thriving knowledge society.
