Visitors to the 19th Al-Jouf International Olive Festival at Prince Abdulilah Cultural Centre in Sakaka are discovering a range of services and programmes offered by government, private and non-profit bodies, in a setting that reflects complementary development roles and promotes sustainability and social responsibility.

The smart source-sorting platform is using its participation to give a full introduction to its waste management and sorting services and to engage citizens and residents in raising environmental awareness by adopting source-sorting practices, offering innovative technical solutions that enable individuals, communities and government bodies to help build a clean and sustainable environment.

At its pavilion the platform demonstrates how local residents take part in smart sorting of waste at source by separating it into categories including paper, plastic and glass, easing recycling, reducing the environmental impact of waste and improving the efficiency of waste management.

The platform also rewards citizens and residents who take part in source sorting with shopping points redeemable at more than 70 partner outlets through its app, encouraging sustainability and linking positive environmental behaviour to tangible incentives that sustain community participation.

The platform's presence at the festival follows the start of its services in Al-Jouf after the Mayor of Al-Jouf Region signed a cooperation agreement with the service provider in November 2025 to manage and recycle municipal solid waste and construction, demolition and renovation waste, supporting environmental development goals and enhancing quality of life in the region.
