Under the patronage of Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Benyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of King Saud University, the university has launched the first edition of its training forum "Tamkeen X", running from 19 to 21 January 2026 under the theme "Your Skills Shape Your Future". Academic leaders, experts and local and international organisations are taking part in a strategic step that reflects the university's commitment to a culture of capability building and human capital development.
The forum aims to develop the capabilities of university staff through training and development and to expand quality programmes that meet labour market needs, supporting Vision 2030 and the Human Capability Development Programme.
Acting university president Dr. Ali bin Mohammed Musmali said in his opening address that "Tamkeen X" extends the university's efforts to embed a culture of sustainable training and development, raise the readiness of academic and administrative staff, improve performance quality and keep pace with a changing labour market, adding that the university is committed to empowering national talent and providing an environment that stimulates innovation and excellence.
Abdulmajeed bin Mohammed Al-Gosaibi, the university's chief human resources officer, said the forum is a strategic step to strengthen institutional training and development and to invest in human capital as the main driver of performance and excellence, noting that "Tamkeen X" focuses on quality programmes rooted in real needs and aimed at tangible impact on performance and careers.
Dr. Rania Al-Jadid, Dean of Skills Development, said the forum embodies the university's commitment to empowering its staff with training linked to labour market needs. Its themes cover building capabilities for a competitive future, developing next-generation skills and enhancing the community impact of training, and its slogan reflects the university's conviction that developing people is the foundation of institutional excellence and sustainability.
The forum offers an integrated programme of specialised training workshops, panel sessions, discussion circles and career and academic guidance, along with the launch of supporting initiatives and the signing of agreements with various bodies to strengthen partnerships in training and capability building.
More than 80 speakers and experts, over 20 organisations and more than 300 volunteers are taking part, reflecting the momentum and expected impact on institutional development within the university and affirming that investment in people is the most rewarding and enduring investment, and that capability building is a strategic path for the university's future and national role.
