Al Kharj, 21 Sha'ban 1447 AH (9 February 2026)
The Dates and Saudi Coffee Festival in Al Kharj Governorate, which closed yesterday, drew around two million visitors who injected nearly SAR 11 million into shopping activity, an indicator of the economic and tourism momentum the governorate is seeing.
The festival, held under the patronage and follow-up of HRH Prince Fahd bin Mohammed bin Saad bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al Kharj, provided more than 2,000 job opportunities, in line with the Governor's direction to raise the level of events, localize their jobs, involve young people and open real opportunities to enter the labor market.
The festival draws on Al Kharj's agricultural standing as one of the governorates best known for palm cultivation, with more than a million fruit-bearing palms and abundant date production, making it one of the regions supporting the local agricultural economy.
The festival focused on entertainment and shopping while highlighting the governorate's agricultural and economic assets and strengthening its presence as an attractive destination for visitors from inside and outside the region.
The festival included the "Al Fahd" initiative for young people and productive families, which enabled them to take part in the festival free of charge and offered multiple forms of support that empower them economically and strengthen their participation in such events, helping them start their projects professionally, gain experience and introduce their products.
The Al Kharj Dates and Saudi Coffee Festival is a model of integration between economic and social development and a supporter of the governorate's sustainable development goals.
