Jeddah, 22 Sha'ban 1447 AH (10 February 2026)

King Abdulaziz University, represented by its College of Architecture and Planning, has held the "Fragrance of the Past" exhibition, aimed at highlighting the beauty of traditional Saudi architecture and exploring its environmental and cultural dimensions through modern geospatial information systems and artificial intelligence.

The exhibition was visited by a number of school students from Jeddah Governorate, who viewed examples of university students' projects embodying the architectural identity and diversity of the Saudi regions, along with interactive presentations introducing regional architectural styles and the influence of the natural environment in shaping traditional architecture.

The exhibition is part of King Abdulaziz University's efforts to support Saudi Vision 2030, particularly in sustainability, ecotourism and strengthening national identity, and gives students an early introduction to architecture and geomatics while developing their awareness of Saudi architectural heritage from a contemporary scientific and technical perspective.

The exhibition aims to offer a modern reading of traditional architecture through spatial analysis tools and the use of digital technology to document architectural heritage, raising the quality of future urban projects and enriching tourism and cultural experiences across the Kingdom's regions.
