Makkah, 19 Ramadan 1447 AH (8 March 2026)

A panel session titled "Infrastructure Shaping the Future", held at Markaz Al Balad Al Ameen in Makkah, reviewed the rapid transformation of the Kingdom's transport and logistics sector and its growing role in supporting economic development goals and strengthening the Kingdom's standing as a global logistics hub linking the continents and meeting the demands of the modern economy.

Developing Ports and Strengthening Supply Chains

The session addressed themes tied to developing Saudi ports, raising their operational efficiency and strengthening their regional and international competitiveness, in light of the programs and initiatives launched under Saudi Vision 2030 that have reshaped the transport and logistics ecosystem, strengthening supply chain integration and supporting global trade.

The presentations spotlighted the transformation of the ports sector through development initiatives aimed at turning Saudi ports into advanced logistics platforms that strengthen the national economy's competitiveness and widen investment horizons in this vital sector.

Entrepreneurial Opportunities in Industry and Logistics

The session also discussed the opportunities available in the industrial and logistics sector amid its rapid growth. A gap in entrepreneurship within the sector was noted, which prompted quality initiatives to stimulate entrepreneurs and enable them to seize promising opportunities. More than 15,000 applicants have benefited from these initiatives in tracks tied to industry and logistics.

Developing Human Capabilities

The session addressed efforts to develop human capabilities in transport and logistics through initiatives to develop national professional standards, catalog the sector's professions and define job competencies, along with preparing a specialized professional dictionary that helps close the gap between education outcomes and labor market needs.

Participants stressed that the sector's transformation is an important pillar of economic diversification, supply chain efficiency and the competitiveness of the national economy, amid development projects and strategic initiatives that seek to establish the Kingdom as a global center for trade and logistics.

The session is part of the series of knowledge and dialogue gatherings hosted by Markaz Al Balad Al Ameen during Ramadan as an intellectual and cultural platform bringing experts, specialists and decision-makers together to discuss development issues and anticipate future opportunities, supporting economic and cultural activity and enhancing quality of life in the Holy Capital.
