Arar, 3 Shawwal 1447 AH (22 March 2026)
The Dahha stole the spotlight at the Eid Al Fitr events held as part of the Eid celebrations in the Northern Borders Region, organized by the Northern Borders Region Municipality at the Arar Cultural Center, with a heritage performance that revived one of the region's most prominent traditions before a wide audience and strong engagement from visitors.
Heritage Performances Full of Life
Dahha troupes presented distinctive performances embodying the spirit of the northern region's heritage through harmonious collective performance and rousing chants expressing the values of pride and courage, giving the celebration an authentic character and connecting the audience with their cultural roots.
An Ancient Folk Art
The Dahha is one of the oldest folk arts with a rousing character. In the past it was performed in war to instill awe in the enemy or to celebrate victory. It relies on collective chants and powerful rhythms performed by participants in facing rows, with a poet in the middle whose verses they repeat in an organized, interactive style.
Varied Events
The events featured a varied package of performances combining entertainment and heritage. The Saudi Ardah drew wide engagement, along with magic shows, dance troupes and musical performances that filled the audience with joy.
An Operetta and a Concert
The program also included the "Shamal Al Izz" operetta, embodying the cultural identity of the Northern Borders Region, along with a concert that drew large numbers of visitors and strengthened the festive atmosphere.
Family Entertainment Areas
The events were accompanied by a set of entertainment and service areas meeting the needs of different groups, including a children's village for the young, a challenges village for adults and an integrated area of restaurants and cafes, providing a complete entertainment experience for visitors.
The events are part of the Northern Borders Region Municipality's efforts to enhance quality of life, enrich the entertainment scene and bring joy to the region's residents and visitors during the days of Eid Al Fitr, while highlighting and strengthening cultural heritage at national and social occasions.
