The third International Arts and Design Conference has opened in Madinah under the umbrella of the General Authority for Exhibitions and Conferences, organized by the Ithra Al Marefa Center for Conferences, Research and Scientific Publishing, with leading academics, researchers and specialists in the arts and design.

Arts and Design for Quality of Life

The scientific sessions opened with a main theme titled "Arts and Design and Their Role in Enhancing Quality of Life", addressing topics including:

  • Preparing art therapy practitioners and raising their professional competence
  • Using smart materials according to the principles of universal design to serve people with disabilities
  • The role of therapeutic architecture and natural elements in improving healthcare environments
  • The relationship between musical rhythm and color transformation in interactive design

Technology and Interactive Design

The first day also featured a session titled "Technology and Interactive Design in Architecture and Contemporary Spaces", which discussed a set of advanced issues, including:

  • The role of the digital museum experience in preserving historical identity
  • The impact of technology on Islamic architecture
  • The prospects of interactive design using virtual and augmented reality
  • Using artificial intelligence to design products that meet psychological and social needs

Toward Innovation and Integration

The sessions' outcomes stressed the importance of integrating modern technology into the arts and design to improve quality of life, foster innovation and keep pace with global change in the creative fields, in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
