Jeddah, 1 Dhu al-Qi'dah 1447 AH (18 April 2026)

Saleh bin Nasser Al Jasser, Minister of Transport and Logistic Services, received at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah the first flights of pilgrims benefiting from the Makkah Route initiative for the Hajj season of 1447 AH, arriving from Bangladesh on a Saudia flight, in a scene reflecting the high level of readiness and institutional integration in serving pilgrims.

An Exceptional Arrival Without Waiting

The pilgrims' journey saw unprecedented ease of procedures. All travel requirements, health checks and baggage handling were completed in advance at the departure airport through the Makkah Route initiative, allowing pilgrims to move directly from the aircraft to the buses taking them to their accommodation in Makkah, without passing through passport control or collecting baggage.

Government Integration and Smart Technology

The initiative is one of the Ministry of Interior's initiatives under the Pilgrim Experience Program, an advanced model of integration between government bodies and the private sector that uses the latest technology and artificial intelligence to ensure smooth movement and high performance.

An Advanced Transport System for Pilgrims

The minister said the transport and logistics system operates under an integrated operational strategy aimed at delivering a distinguished experience for pilgrims, using advanced electronic systems to manage baggage and ensure it reaches accommodation at the same time as the pilgrims.

Continued Support for the Vision's Goals

He said these efforts extend the leadership's strong support for serving the Two Holy Mosques and advance the Saudi Vision 2030 goals of improving the quality of services for pilgrims and easing their journey.

Pilgrims Praise the Organization

At the close of the reception, the pilgrims expressed their thanks and gratitude for the speed of procedures and the warmth of the welcome, saying what they saw reflects the development of services and the Kingdom's commitment to an easy and safe Hajj experience.
