HE Eng. Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadley, Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, has launched the events and exhibition of Saudi Environment Week 2026 in Riyadh, in the presence of Deputy Minister Eng. Mansour bin Hilal Al Mushaiti and a number of the ministry's leaders, under the theme "Your Impact Is Green", a national initiative to raise environmental awareness and instill a culture of sustainability across the community.

The week coincides with awareness and field programs and events across every region of the Kingdom, with the participation of government bodies, the private sector and non-profit organizations, strengthening institutional integration in protecting natural resources and achieving Saudi Vision 2030.

Dr. Osama Faqeeha, Deputy Minister for Environment, said environmental conservation is a cornerstone of sustainable development and quality of life, adding that this year's edition underlines the importance of collective action in protecting the environment and sustaining it through daily practices and economic activities.

He said the Kingdom has recorded notable progress in environmental protection indicators, including a major expansion of protected areas and higher waste recycling rates, along with the rehabilitation of large areas of degraded land and the planting of millions of trees using treated water, as part of national and regional initiatives for environmental sustainability.

The Kingdom has also supported international environmental efforts through quality initiatives, most notably the Middle East Green Initiative, and by hosting the sixteenth session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (COP16), an important milestone for joint international action against desertification and land degradation.

At the close of the launch, attendees toured the accompanying exhibition, which presented modern initiatives and technologies in environmental protection and sustainability, along with interactive platforms bringing the participating bodies together to explore cooperation and future environmental projects.
