HRH Prince Dr. Hussam bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Al Baha Region, presided over the graduation ceremony of the 20th class of male and female students of Al Baha University for the 1447 AH academic year, numbering 3,332 graduates, at the Prince Dr. Hussam bin Saud Theater on the university campus in Al Aqiq Governorate.

The ceremony was attended by academic leaders and the graduates' parents, in a festive atmosphere reflecting the importance of an occasion that crowns an academic journey of years of hard work.

Governor of Al Baha: Education Is a National Priority

The Governor expressed his pleasure at sharing the graduates' joy, congratulated them and said the educational achievements come with the support of the leadership, which has made education a priority of national development.

He pointed to the importance of strengthening cooperation between the university and the private sector to empower graduates and create suitable job opportunities, through forums and career fairs that support their transition to the labor market.

Al Baha University Continues Its Global Academic Presence

Dr. Abdullah bin Yahya Al Hussain, President of Al Baha University, said the university continues to advance in global rankings, forming local and international partnerships, accrediting its academic programs and launching educational and creative initiatives that raise the quality of education.

He said the university has graduated more than 70,000 students since its founding and helped prepare qualified national talent to serve the nation across scientific and professional fields.

Notable Academic and Research Achievements

The president pointed to a number of the university's recent achievements, including its entry into the Times Higher Education world ranking and the Times ranking for environmental sciences, and the accreditation of most of its academic programs.

He also reviewed student successes, most notably first place for students of the Arabic Language Teaching Unit for Non-Native Speakers in the "Harf" competition, and first place for College of Pharmacy students in the Clinical Skills Competition ahead of more than 40 local and international universities.

Graduates Across Academic Levels

The ceremony included a video presentation of the university's achievements and graduate results: 2,220 graduates at bachelor's level, 581 from diploma programs, 531 from graduate studies and 34 international students.

Graduates of the College of Medicine took the medical oath, and the graduates delivered a speech expressing their joy at the occasion and their gratitude for the support they received throughout their educational journey.

An Operetta and Honors for Success Partners

The ceremony closed with an operetta celebrating the graduates, before the Governor honored the success partners and the bodies that took part in and supported the ceremony.

The ceremony is part of Al Baha University's efforts to strengthen the academic environment and motivate students toward scientific and professional excellence, in line with the Saudi Vision 2030 goals of developing education and building national capabilities.
