Amad Hackathon 2026 Enters Guinness World Records as the World's Largest Fintech Hackathon
The Amad Hackathon 2026 has achieved a new global milestone by setting a Guinness World Record as the world's largest hackathon in financial technology, during the second edition of the event held in partnership between Tuwaiq Academy and Alinma Bank.
The hackathon drew more than 6,000 participants in person and online, along with more than 2,800 teams from across the Kingdom, confirming the rapid growth of the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem in the fintech sector.
The hackathon concluded after three days of competition hosted at The Garage in Riyadh, where participants submitted more than 2,800 innovative projects across six main tracks: generative AI for fintech, customer experience, financial education, open banking, gamification and financial regulation.
The achievement extends the series of Guinness World Records set by Tuwaiq Academy through its technology programs, and reflects the Kingdom's advanced standing in organizing global technology events and its support for innovation and the digital economy in line with Saudi Vision 2030.
The milestone follows the first edition of the Amad Hackathon in 2025, which set a record as the largest hackathon in Riyadh, before the 2026 edition achieved a new global record, confirming its place among the world's leading innovation platforms in financial technology.
