An artistic journey through the magic of darkness

Diriyah, Saudi Arabia, the "In the Night" exhibition opens its doors at the temporary hall of the Saudi Museum of Contemporary Art in the JAX District in Diriyah Governorate, offering an exceptional artistic journey through the magic and aesthetics of darkness.

From February 22 to May 22, 2024, the exhibition invites visitors to explore the concept of night through a diverse collection of works by more than 30 artists from Saudi Arabia and around the world.

The exhibition presents a unique mix of paintings, sculptures, installations and photography, each expressing the individual vision of the artist behind it, on the theme of night.

Among the standout works:

  • "Night" by Saudi artist Ahmed Mater: a painting capturing the mystery and beauty of night through dark colors and interwoven lines.
  • "The Moon" by Saudi artist Mona Al-Hajri: a sculpture representing the moon as a symbol of beauty and calm.
  • "Stars" by American artist James Turrell: an art installation that recreates a night sky studded with stars.
