The Capacity Building Sector at the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), in cooperation with the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC), has begun implementing a new standards framework for training programs in data and artificial intelligence.

The implementation follows the framework’s launch during the fourth edition of UNESCO’s Global Forum on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence, recently hosted in Riyadh.

Aligning AI Training with Labor Market Needs

The framework establishes reference standards designed to improve the quality of data and AI training programs and assess how closely their content aligns with labor market needs, professional requirements, and relevant national regulations.

It also focuses on integrating Saudi policies and regulations related to data and artificial intelligence, AI principles and ethics, and awareness of potential risks associated with the use of AI technologies and tools.

The initiative is intended to strengthen training outcomes while promoting responsible and effective adoption of artificial intelligence across different professional environments.

10 Training Programs Assessed in First Phase

The first phase of implementation covers the assessment of 10 specialized training programs under the framework’s standards.

The programs target several professional groups, including non-specialists seeking to use AI tools to improve productivity, practitioners and specialists working in data and artificial intelligence, and executives seeking to strengthen their understanding and effective adoption of emerging technologies.

Four Professional Data Management Certifications

During the forum, SDAIA’s Capacity Building Sector also launched four professional certifications focused on data management and governance.

They cover certified data classification, personal data protection, assessment of the National Data Index “Nudee,” and data quality management.

The certifications are designed to strengthen professional capabilities and develop Saudi talent in priority areas related to data governance, protection, classification, and quality.

850+ Trainees Across 31 Programs in One Week

SDAIA’s Capacity Building Sector also delivered 31 training programs during the previous week, benefiting more than 850 trainees from over 55 government entities.

The programs covered AI fundamentals in the workplace, computer vision systems development, advanced generative AI systems engineering, the use of generative AI to improve productivity, time-series analysis and forecasting, as well as other advanced data and AI topics.

The implementation of the framework forms part of SDAIA’s broader efforts to strengthen Saudi capabilities, improve the quality of specialized training, and prepare national talent to use data and artificial intelligence responsibly and effectively while supporting a data- and innovation-driven economy.
