The "Allam Challenge," organized by the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) in partnership with the Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming and Drones, saw growing competition for a second consecutive day among 200 teams from 17 countries, including Saudi Arabia. The challenge aims to develop large language models (LLMs) to serve the Arabic language through innovative solutions applicable across multiple fields, boosting the efficiency of Arabic usage in the technology sector and supporting the development of its digital content.

Support and Evaluation from Leading AI Experts

The challenge provides competing teams with support and guidance from more than 50 specialized mentors, while 40 judges, experts in AI and Arabic language affairs, evaluate projects based on criteria that ensure the sustainability and applicability of the proposed ideas. The projects vary widely, including tools capable of deeply understanding the Arabic language, models that process grammar and provide accurate sentence analysis, and applications for teaching Arabic to children in interactive, engaging ways.

International Partnerships and Incentive Prizes

IBM and the National Technology Development Program (NTDP) are taking part in the event through specialized technical support, with prizes totaling 1 million Saudi riyals awarded to encourage solutions of real, sustainable value for the Arabic language. The Allam Challenge reflects the Kingdom's desire to continue strengthening Arabic digital content and raising its efficiency by offering solutions powered by the latest AI technologies.
