The Eastern Province Municipality has wrapped up the first edition of "Waha Al-Deera" at Granada Park in Qaryat Al-Ulya governorate. The three-day event aimed to support home-based businesses and craftspeople in showcasing their products to the public amid an entertaining social and cultural atmosphere. The event saw participation from 140 home businesses and a number of local craftspeople, supported by 35 volunteers, with products on display ranging from handicrafts and traditional handmade items to perfume- and incense-making, and traditional foods.

The Eastern Province Municipality said this first edition achieved success on several fronts, helping market home businesses' products, supporting the local economy, and boosting commercial activity in Qaryat Al-Ulya, making "Waha Al-Deera" an important gathering aimed at empowering craft entrepreneurs and boosting marketing opportunities for home businesses.

Infrastructure Projects and Improved Traffic Safety

Alongside "Waha Al-Deera," the Eastern Province Municipality implemented 21 pedestrian crossings at multiple locations across Al-Rafi'ah and its affiliated centers, as part of efforts to improve infrastructure and the urban landscape. The new crossings aim to provide a safe environment for pedestrians and reduce traffic accidents, particularly in high-traffic areas, and are equipped with warning signs and night lighting to ensure clear visibility, helping boost traffic safety and improve residents' quality of life.
