The Ministry of Sport announced that Saudi Arabia will host the opening round of the E1 World Electric Powerboat Championship for the second consecutive year, to be held on Jeddah's waterfront on January 24 and 25, 2025. The event is organized by the Saudi Federation for Water Sports and Diving, under the supervision of the Ministry of Sport and in cooperation with the International Powerboating Federation.

The championship features nine international teams owned by global sports and entertainment stars, including:

  • Tom Brady
  • Virat Kohli
  • Didier Drogba

These teams are represented by 18 drivers, competing in races held across seven cities worldwide during the season.

Team Brady, owned by American football star Tom Brady, claimed last year's overall title after a fierce battle with Westbrook Racing, while Team Brady, led by duo Sam Coleman and Emma Kimilainen, won the Jeddah round held in February.
