Industry Minister: Industrial Sector Key to Diversifying Economy and Boosting Saudi Competitiveness
Industry Minister Khaleel bin Ibrahim bin Salem emphasized that continuing to develop the industrial sector is a crucial priority for enhancing the competitiveness of the Saudi economy and diversifying its sources, amid the rapid growth of the industrial system supported by the 2030 Saudi Vision targets.
He made these remarks during his participation in the open meeting for industrialists, held on September 15, 2026, as part of the first day of the 2026 Saudi Industry Forum in Jeddah, in the presence of a group of industrialists, investors, and entrepreneurs.
The meeting highlighted the key challenges facing the industrial sector in the Kingdom, and the efforts being made to overcome them through developing the legal environment, enhancing industrial enablers, and attracting quality investments, alongside efforts to improve supply chain efficiency and open more export opportunities for Saudi products.
Discussions also covered the future of the national industry and the role that the private sector can play in accelerating industrial growth, as well as the importance of leveraging advanced technologies and innovation to improve production efficiency and enhance the added value of national products.
The meeting provided industrialists, investors, and entrepreneurs with an opportunity to discuss the challenges they face and explore opportunities for industrial enterprises, as well as review a range of programs and initiatives supporting industrial development and achieving the goals of the National Industrial Strategy.
On the sidelines of the forum, Khaleel bin Salem met with a number of business leaders and heard their views on the challenges and investment opportunities available in the sector, emphasizing the ongoing efforts to enhance direct communication with investors and provide a supportive environment for the growth of industrial enterprises in all regions of the Kingdom.
