The Saudi Waleema Festival, organized by the Culinary Arts Commission in Jeddah, saw strong turnout at its children's corner, where entertainment and education came together in an interactive atmosphere. The corner offers children a unique experience that combines promoting Saudi culinary culture with building a range of life skills, through activities inspired by heritage.

Diverse Educational and Entertainment Activities

The children's corner featured six main pavilions, each offering a distinct experience:

  • Children's Theater: featuring shows and interactive competitions that drew young audiences and their families.
  • Shopping and Grocery Center: letting children experience simulated professions, from selling to managing accounts.
  • Candy Factory: where children learned to make traditional Saudi sweets such as Taif rose jam.
  • Kids' Kitchen: letting them prepare traditional popular dishes such as jareesh and qursan.
  • The Farm: promoting the concept of sustainability and tree-planting in an innovative way.
  • The Maze: featuring riddles and educational puzzles about Saudi dishes and crossword-style word games.

A Unique Learning Experience

Festival organizers said the children's corner was designed to promote Saudi cultural heritage in an interactive way, while providing a safe, enjoyable environment for teaching children the importance of food heritage and traditional crafts. Many parents expressed their delight with the experience, which combines learning and entertainment. One visitor said: "It was a wonderful opportunity for my children to learn about our heritage through play and creative activities."

Raising Environmental Awareness

The Farm pavilion focused on teaching children the importance of sustainability and agriculture through interactive activities that encourage them to think about protecting the environment in a fun, practical way, reflecting the festival's commitment to promoting environmental values.
