Izmir — November 30, 2024:
The Turkish city of Izmir saw the launch of the final stage of the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) 2024, which concludes tomorrow with the participation of teams from around the world. Saudi Arabia is represented at the event by 15 teams made up of 30 students, supported by 11 advisers and 15 technical coaches, competing across multiple categories including robot missions, robot sports, future innovators, and future engineers.

A National Partnership to Boost Technical Excellence

The Kingdom's participation in this international competition comes through a partnership between the Ministry of Education, the Saudi Federation for Robotics and Wireless Sports, Tuwaiq Academy, and the Tatweer Company for Educational Technologies. The partnership aims to build Saudi students' capabilities in technical innovation and problem-solving, in line with Saudi Vision 2030's goal of empowering youth in science and technology.

World Robot Olympiad: A Global Platform for Creativity

WRO is an annual event aimed at developing design, programming and innovation skills among different age groups from around the world. Through interactive challenges, the Olympiad provides a competitive learning environment that motivates participants to develop innovative technical solutions and strengthens their creative thinking and teamwork skills.

The Saudi teams are competing with high hopes of achieving strong results in this global competition, reflecting the Kingdom's commitment to developing its students' skills in artificial intelligence and robotics. The Saudi teams have shown strong performances in previous rounds, boosting their chances of competing for top places at the Olympiad's conclusion.
