The fourth International Conference on Quality of Life Research for People with Disabilities, organized by the Onaizah Society for Development and Humanitarian Services (Taheel), concluded on 10 December 2024, with prominent official and community attendance led by acting Governor of Onaizah Saad Al-Sulaim.

Conference Highlights

Held under the theme "Change Through a Modern Vision," the conference ran over two days packed with scientific discussions and workshops, with participation from nine Gulf, Arab and international countries. The conference featured 10 scientific sessions, including 37 research papers and 22 scientific posters, addressing the key challenges and innovations for improving the quality of life for people with disabilities.

Remarks and Words of Appreciation

The opening address was delivered by Dr. Abdullah Hadi Al-Mudaish, Chairman of the Conference's Higher Committee and associate professor at Shaqra University, followed by remarks from Professor Dagmara Dimitriou of University College London, who praised the conference's scientific standard and the importance of its outcomes in strengthening the rights of people with disabilities.

Supporting organizations and notable participants were honored for their contributions to the conference's success, alongside the presentation of awards to winners of the research competitions.

  • Research paper category: 1st place, Dr. Faisal Al-Qarni; 2nd place, Dr. Alaa Abdullah Al-Jabour; 3rd place, Her Royal Highness Princess Dania bint Abdullah.

The conference focused on strengthening innovation and cross-sector integration to serve people with disabilities, producing recommendations to promote practices that improve quality of life for this group and stressing the importance of cooperation between participating countries to exchange expertise.
