Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, Minister of Culture and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts, the second edition of "Itiqa" ("Meeting") launches, hosting the Federative Republic of Brazil under the theme "A Meeting of Saudi-Brazilian Arts." The event takes place at the King Fahd Cultural Center in Riyadh from Thursday, January 30, to Saturday, February 1, 2025, offering a unique artistic and cultural experience that highlights the harmony between the traditional arts of Saudi Arabia and Brazil.
A rich program of arts and cultural exchange
The second edition features a rich program that includes:
- Performances: five traditional Saudi performances and five Brazilian performances, concluding with a combined dance reflecting the harmony between the two cultures.
- A joint artwork: a collaboration between a Saudi and a Brazilian artist to create a unique piece blending the traditional arts of both countries.
- Workshops and cultural activities: more than 15 events including workshops, visual exhibitions, and activities introducing the performing arts.
A global cultural message
"Itiqa" is part of the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts' initiatives to boost international cultural dialogue and support the local arts movement. Following the success of the first edition with South Korea in 2023, the second edition seeks to highlight the artistic ties between Saudi Arabia and Brazil, underscoring the Kingdom's commitment to the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 in promoting traditional arts locally and globally.
