Sharurah, 11 February 2025 — The seventh Sharurah Winter Festival got underway this year, offering visitors a unique heritage experience combining traditional industries, camel, horse and falcon products, and folk cuisine, at the festival site near the governorate's entrance (Kilo 5).

Handicrafts and Folk Food Reflecting the Region's Heritage

Home-based producers and artisans are taking part through heritage pavilions showcasing the traditional industries for which the region is known, including handicrafts (stone, pottery, palm-frond and leather work); camel and horse products (tools for raising and caring for camels, horses and falcons); folk food (authentic local dishes the region is known for); and perfumes and incense (natural products reflecting the south's heritage identity).

Supporting Home-Based Producers, Boosting Economic Activity

The festival's organizing committee has set aside dedicated spaces for home-based producers and artisans to support them and encourage them to market their products to visitors, helping stimulate the local economy and strengthen Sharurah's cultural heritage.

The festival offers a wonderful opportunity to explore authentic heritage and learn about traditional crafts and local cuisine, amid a distinctive winter atmosphere reflecting the region's spirit and storied history.
