His Royal Highness Prince Fahd bin Mohammed bin Saad bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Kharj, presided this evening over the launch ceremony of the Tourism Committee affiliated with the Al-Kharj Chamber, held at the Qasr Conference Hall. The event drew official attendance from government officials, business leaders and stakeholders interested in developing the governorate's tourism sector.

The ceremony opened with remarks from Al-Kharj Chamber Chairman Eng. Abdulaziz bin Rabie Al-Sharif, who thanked the governor for his support and patronage, describing the new committee as a strategic step toward empowering the local tourism sector and strengthening its role in diversifying the national economy.

Ali bin Suleiman Al-Duraihem, head of the Chamber's Tourism Committee, outlined the committee's goals and areas of work, noting that among its priorities is activating effective partnerships and investing in the natural, cultural and heritage assets that abound in Al-Kharj, helping to establish it as a promising tourism destination on the national tourism map.

The ceremony also marked the launch of the committee's work and future programs, alongside the signing of a number of partnership agreements and memoranda of understanding between the committee and government and private entities, aimed at supporting joint tourism initiatives and unifying efforts to advance the sector in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

This step represents a qualitative leap in strengthening Al-Kharj's tourism infrastructure and encouraging investment in hospitality, events and historical sites, generating sustainable economic and social returns.
