Jeddah, 12 Dhu al-Hijjah 1446H (June 8, 2025) — The General Directorate of Border Guards has concluded its awareness exhibition on maritime safety, held over several days at Aziz Mall in Jeddah, amid strong turnout and engagement from visitors and families, as part of the Directorate's efforts to raise community awareness of the importance of following safety guidelines while carrying out maritime activities.

The exhibition featured awareness and interactive corners offering detailed explanations of the dangers of the sea and how to guard against them, the most important rescue and personal-safety tools, and precautionary measures that should be followed when visiting beaches or using various marine vehicles, such as jet skis and boats.

The exhibition also highlighted the Border Guard's role in monitoring the coastline and protecting lives, by showcasing the modern equipment used in rescue and monitoring operations, and presenting real-life accounts from rescue missions carried out by border guard personnel.

The General Directorate of Border Guards affirmed it will continue its outreach efforts across all regions of the Kingdom, particularly at coastal locations during the summer season, urging everyone to call 911 immediately in case of an emergency in the Makkah, Madinah and Eastern Province regions, and 994 in the rest of the Kingdom's regions, to ensure a rapid response.

These initiatives are part of a comprehensive plan to promote a culture of maritime safety, in line with the Kingdom's direction of raising community awareness, protecting lives, and activating field outreach work through interactive exhibitions that draw in the whole family.
